Our speaker for our April meeting at the Springfield Art Museum was Kate Francis, Museum Affairs Officer for Fundraising and Development.  She provided a detailed update on the Museum's 2028 Campaign for expansion and renovation, showed new renderings and animations of the proposed renovations, and reviewed the construction timeline and the need for closure. Kate also took Studio 55 members on a tour of the Museum to talk about the challenges of the current building and the solutions the new construction offers. Thank you so much Kate for the information and renderings of the upcoming changes.

Here are some photos from the April meeting. Thank you Tracy Bruton for the photos.

Program by Terry Bloodworth: Blown Glass Artist

We are back in our usual location for our May meeting, and we're thrilled to feature Terry Bloodworth as our speaker. Many of you may remember Terry from his 25 years of working and entertaining at Silver Dollar City as a glassblower. Others may know him from his shop that he had in town, "Springfield Hot Glass." You can still see his work at Waverly House Gifts and Gallery. The photos below are examples of his works that were at Springfield Hot Glass. Terry intends to bring to our meeting examples of his work and some of the tools of the trade, and he will also talk about his journey in art and entertainment. Hope to see you there on May 8 at 1 p.m. at the Gallery in National Avenue Christian Church.

Please bring some of your own art for show and discussion before and after our meeting.  Refreshments are also available.  Members and visitors are welcome.
