Linda Spencer and Roberto Regalado:
The Dunnegan Gallery in Bolivar is a hidden jewel in Southwest MO. We made it over for the Luster Exhibit to see this outstanding collection of automotive art. Our friend Joseph Santos work is included in this collection. He is an excellent watercolor artist who has been in Watercolor U.S.A. several times. We should all put this gallery on our regular visit list. It’s a wonderful gallery space, and they have a very fine permanent collection. Please check the hours before you make a trip, they are limited. 511 N Pike Ave, Bolivar, MO, Phone: (417) 326-3438.

I am so pleased that one of my Fauxbotz was selected to be exhibited in the Springfield Fresh Gallery Juried Art Show taking place April 2 through April 30, 2021.
I began making these little ornamental robots out of recycled materials a couple of years ago. They have evolved into what I call my “Fauxbotz”. Most of the rusted fasteners and used parts like old circuit boards and watch fragments have come from garage sales and/or generous friends. I get my wood from scrap piles and the Home Depot free trash bin located at the back of the store where they saw wood for customers. If the metal objects aren’t rusted enough, I help them along with a mix of vinegar, salt and hydrogen peroxide. I also occasionally use a rust colored mix of acrylic paints. Each of the little Fauxbotz have their own personality and all are made with love symbolized by a little handmade steampunk heart.
The challenge for me has been getting these mini Fauxbotz to stand upright. Through trial and error I have found that screwing in two wooden beads at the bottom and then attaching a large washer with glue works well.
The Studio 55 Arts Guild programs have been cancelled due to COVID-19, please be safe and you will be updated as to when we will be able to have meetings and programs again.

Alicia Farris:
I have stayed busy doing lots of interesting commission projects and am very grateful to be in my new studio space to do my work. I have taught online here and there and plan to teach a mini beginning online acrylic workshop April 8 through Drury and SRAC to aid the "Artists' Relief Fund" , looking forward to getting back to a full schedule of teaching in person, what I most love!
So far in 2021, I'm honored to be sending my painting, "Hesitation" to Quincy Florida for inclusion in the 44 Annual Juried Exhibition of the Southern Watercolor Society and "The Observer" to Dixon, Illinois for the 37th National Exhibition of the Illinois Watercolor Society and "Strength and Struggle" will be included in the 51st International online Exhibition of the Louisiana Watercolor Society. (Louisiana and Illinois WC Society Exhibits were first time entries for me this year) I'll also thrilled to be included in 2021 Watercolor USA!
I hope everyone is enjoying creating and I very much look forward to being able to gather again soon!

Sherri Davis:
Hello Studio 55 gang,
I have been busy painting, remodeling a bathroom and playing with grandkids. I have had the privilege to be fully vaccinated so I’m hoping it will feel safer to go out and mingle with my art friends soon.
I did an event this past weekend where I displayed my art in Republic, MO. at a boutique sales event. I did make a few sales and thanks to friends that came out to support me, I’ll call it a success. I shared a booth space with the lovely fiber and encaustic artist, Becky White. This was the first event we have done since purchasing pro-panels to display our art. The booth looked lovely if I do say so myself. This was a trial run for our booth set up and we are hoping to do a few more events, indoors only. If anyone knows of an established event that might be a good fit for us please let me know.
I have cards and prints currently available at Sweet Peas Vintage and more, in Ozark, Mo. Or by contacting me directly.
Hoping everyone is staying healthy and safe.
Sherri
