News-Leader (Nov 23, 2017) "New Studio 55 Exhibit Greets Travelers at Springfield Airport' by Camille Dautrich. Thanks to Camille for this excellent article!

This is the airport's second partnership with Studio 55 Fine Arts Guild and it's one that's especially rewarding. "They're a dynamic, enthusiastic, passionate group," said Gallery Manager Kara Remington. "I think Sky Gallery is unique," she said. "It's a traveler's first glimpse of what Springfield is. The art is representative of the whole city." The new exhibit of work by 27 members of the Studio 55 group is now on display, and if you have a little time to look around, you'll enjoy what you see. Dear members of Studio 55,

The art show, An Evening With Studio 55,” held at the Springfield Art Museum on Friday, October 12, 2018, was a huge success thanks to the hard work of Studio 55 members! There were between 175-180 attendees at this spectacular event held under the Chihuly glass chandelier in the museum lobby. Gracing the perimeter of the lobby were easels and tables filled with beautiful art work showcasing 75 pieces of art by professional and non-professional artists.
We are greatly indebted to all those who helped with the intake, and set up of all the pieces of art on Thursday and Friday. Don Letson, Gary Tebbenkamp, Louise Eggleston, Chris Haik, Larry Stevens, and others worked tirelessly. We couldn’t have managed without their help.
A huge thank you to Greg Chappell who donated a lovely original painting for our drawing. Kim Robertson’s name was drawn. Her winning card was signed by Sonya Wise who will receive a free year’s membership to Studio 55.
The beautiful hors d’oeuvres were prepared by Eleanor Strauser and Curtis. They did a fabulous job with their preparation and presentation.
Guests were served by students from MSU. They acted professionally and courteously throughout the evening. Many thanks to Dr. Lisa Hall, Missouri State University Gerontology Department, for arranging the servers.
Thanks are also in order to Sonya & John Wise for the donation of the wine for the evening. Tom Gist and John Wise graciously agreed to pour.
Judging was conducted by Sharon Harper - Missouri State University, Department of Art &Design, and Rebecca Miller - Drury University - Associate Professor of Art &Art History.

The owners of National Art Shop, Jean and Jerry Sanders, selected their favorite entries in both divisions. The winning selections received gift cards from National Art Shop.
Cash prizes were awarded to Best of Showand 1stplace winners in both professional and non-professional divisions.

Thank you again to all those who participated in making, “An Evening With Studio 55”, a wonderful success!
