Studio 55 November Program
WEDNESDAY November 8, 2023 at 1 p.m.
The Gallery at National Avenue Church
1515 S. National Avenue, Springfield, MO

Program by Laura Ingalsbe and Grace Huckfeldt, co-owners of "Formed: An Artist Collective."

"Formed: An Artist Collective" includes Formed Gallery and Forming Art Studios. Laura says that Formed Gallery opened in early 2021 in part due to the COVID pandemic, when many shows and exhibits were unable to provide artists with opportunities. Formed Gallery currently features the work of approximately 40 artists, including many Studio 55 members. Forming Art Studios was created about a year later and provides classes and studio space across the street from the Gallery. They are also hosting "Art of the Ozarks," a fine art fair on November 17-18 from 2-8 p.m. at Mother's Brewing Company, 215 S. Grant Ave., in Springfield. Laura and Grace will talk about those ventures and also their own artwork.

Members and guests are also invited to bring up to two pieces of their art to the meeting for "show and share." This is a fun time of sharing, socializing, and enjoying light refreshments.

Our speaker for our October meeting was artist and Studio 55 member LaDonna Greiner, who spoke about her new book, "I'm Here for a Purpose," and her adventures with hiking and photography.  It was a great presentation and, even though we knew she survived those challenging hikes and storms, it was exciting to learn how she prevailed.  LaDonna's photography is so vivid and colorful that you really feel like you're there in the beautiful scenery.  Thank you to Tracy Bruton and Sandra Letson for these photos of speaker for the October meeting and also photos of members who brought art for viewing.
